Mario Kart 8’s Release Reminds Me Why I Love Gaming

A quick look at the video game community will show you a lot of unsavory things. Name calling, homophobic remarks and everything in between can be seen when seeing a few of your average fan boys debating the dominance of the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One. From the outside looking in, it looks like we never get along and are only on these sites to belittle each other.

A funny thing happens when a major titles is approaching us though, we put away our insults and become what makes gaming so damn amazing, a community.

To see this radical change of heart and see gamers embrace each other over an upcoming title is something that I love to see. I remember this happening when Animal Crossing New Leaf was about to release for the 3DS. Twitter was filled with excitment and anticipation.

Gamers weren’t  yelling back and forth; they were telling each other how they couldn’t sleep due to excitement. They weren’t calling one another names; they were guessing what sort of secrets the game would hold.

Mario Kart 8 is sure to bring the gaming community together just as its past iterations have done.

As someone who loves when the gaming community comes together, I always looks forward to these big sort of releases. A game like Mario Kart is sure to, and in some cases already has, bring games from all over the world together. The nostalgia we all hold for the series coupled with the anticipation to experience a great game is sure to put the gaming community in a great mood, even if it is just for a few days.

What are your thoughts on Mario Kart 8? Will you be buying it? Do you think I’m right about my feeling toward the gaming community? Let me know in the comments!
