With E3 right around the corner, rumors are bound to come and go, with some being more prevalent than others. Thanks to the folks at Power Leveled and Reddit, we have a brand new list of what Nintendo might be bringing to this years show, through their Nintendo Direct. Is this rumor true? If it is, is this a solid line up? Let’s take a look together!
I’m not going to break down every single game on this list, you can watch the video for that, but I will break down some key points from it.
Let’s start out with the 3DS:
First off we’ll look at two titles that I have never heard of, Fossil Fighters: Infinite Gear and Project S.T.E.A.M. These two titles are both game series that I have never heard of and I can’t wait to hear more about them. As an owner of the 3DS, I can’t argue against new IP’s coming to the handheld. If this list turns out to be real, I’ll be more than happy to hear what Nintendo has to say about these titles.
This list also says that we are getting a new Star Fox game. This is an exciting announcement for many fans of the series, although I have personally heard many clamoring for a Star Fox to appear on the Wii U. I don’t know that I’ll be picking this title up, but seeing a Star Fox game come to the 3DS is something that will make many people happy and I can’t argue with that.
Lastly, there are the known games like Smash Bros, Layton vs Phoenix Wright, and Pokemon.
Now onto the Wii U section:
The known games like Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Pushmo, Smash Bros and Yarn Yoshi are about, but there are a few surprise titles to hit this list.
A new Legend of Zelda hits this list entitled The Legend of Zelda: Unbound King. Hopefully we see some game play from this iteration of Link’s adventure. Then we get the fighting game entitled Pokken Warriors. This Pokemon fighting game sounds interesting and I’ll be keeping my eye on this title for sure.
I like the addition of a Super Mario Sunshine HD, but I know many people weren’t big fans of the title. Personally I know if this title is real, that I’ll be giving it a chance for sure, as I did not get to experience it when it released.
It looks like X took the name XenoMech Saga, so we’ll have to wait and see if this is true. There are a few other games shown, but between the picture, which I’ll post in this article, and the video that accompanies this piece, you’ll be able to see everything that’s on the list.
Most importantly, is this list real? Honestly I think content wise it has a chance, but format wise, it shows signs of not being real. What strikes me as odd is how every game on the agenda is put on on page in a concise area. The big thing is the “INTERNAL USE ONLY” font at the top of the page. It just seems too “Hollywood” for me to seem real. This seems more like a movie prop than something that would be used in a company’s showroom.
All in all, I don’t think this leak is real. It just doesn’t feel right. I hope to see a more diverse list of first party titles that will hit the Wii U. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see until Nintendo rolls out what to do in their direct and on the showroom floor. Be sure to tune in to Gaming Tech United to keep up on all your E3 news!
