Now that we’re a little past the half way point of 2015, it’s time to look back and see what titles can start to contend for the crown of best in 2015. Every year around this time there’s usually one or two games that stick out to me as real contenders, but this year there’s already double that, with the future looking even brighter. Let’s dive in a take a look at what games I have targeted.
It’s only July and I already have a list of four games that are contending against each other for my Game of the Year award. Those games are:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS4 / X1 / PC)
Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4 / X1 / PC)
Rocket League (PS4)
These four titles have brought me so much joy and have had their hooks in me at one time or the other. They may not be games that you totally are in love with, but that’s what I love about video games, everyone can have different tastes.
When we look to the future I’m even more optimistic as we are getting Metal gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and then Fallout 4. These are two titles that I can guarantee will be in the running for Gaming Tech United’s Game of the Year award.
As I take a step back, I can only smile at the fact that there are going to be six games that I am seriously considering for this award. Usually we get one to four games that are really considered, but this year there’s going to be at least six. This has me beyond hyped and although the internet loves to be negative, I truly think we’re in a golden age of video games.
I cannot wait to see what the rest of this year holds, as I’m sure there will be at least one more surprise title that I fall in love with as well. For as much hate as it gets, 2015 has been one hell of a year in gaming for me.
If I had to chose at this very second, My pick would be The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The story got me, the combat was fun, and the world was so expansive. As of late though, My heart is starting to fall for the new game that has just hit the PS4, entitled Rocket League.
As great of a year as it has been already, I think that the next 5 months will be just as good, maybe even better. I hope that developers have some good surprises for us and I cannot wait until I can finally declare what game will take home the GotY title.
